In years gone by, birds were extremely popular as the material for millinery… people wanted hats festooned with feathers…and bird-inspired fashion was all the rage. Tom Cadwallender from the British Trust for Ornithology has been taking a look into the chequered history of the bird trade and how the little egret survived.

 Carl: 14:42: Over a hundred thousand citizen scientists took part in the 2020 Big Butterfly Count, submitting nearly a hundred and fifty thousand counts of butterflies and day-flying moths across the UK.
